The Peace River Power Centre (PRPC) is Genalta's largest Solution Gas project executed to date.

Project Name: Peace River Power Centre (PRPC)

Project Type: Solution Gas to Power

Location: Peace River, Alberta

Size: 20 MW

PRPC is a modular built solution that takes solution gas and diverts it from harmful flarestacks to produce clean power for the Peace River region. Genalta undertook this project with two of Alberta's largest oil and gas producers in a effort to create a responsible power generation solution for the region. The facility was fully constructed and operational within only 13 months setting a new company record for Genalta.

THE CADOTTE FACILITY, CONSTRUCTED AND COMMISSIONED IN 2012, IS DESIGNED TO GENERATE ELECTRICITY FROM OTHERWISE-FLARED SOUR SOLUTION GAS.

Project Name: Cadotte      

Project Type: Solution Gas to Power        

Location: Peace River, AB

Size: 4 MW              

In-Service Date: Spring 2012

The Cadotte Facility generates a new source of revenue for our partner in Peace River. By diverting gas from flare, we’re generating base load electricity, reducing operating expenses, and improving our client’s environmental performance. The innovative project was granted a patent for its design, and we are proud to say that the Cadotte facility is the first flare gas to power project to earn Greenhouse Gas Offset Credits in Alberta. It is estimated that over the life of the project, the facility will reduce regional emissions by over 240,000 tonnes of CO2e.

SUPPORTING OUR CLIENT`S CONSERVATION EFFORTS, GENALTA POWER BUILT THE GALLOWAY POWER PLANT TO CONSUME SOUR SOLUTION GAS FROM A HEAVY OIL FIELD.

Project Type: Solution Gas to Power

Location: Peace River, AB

Size: 4 MW             

In-Service Date:  Spring 2013

The Galloway Generating Facility was constructed as an addition to our 2012 Cadotte plant. Using the same generating technology, the Galloway facility at the time of commissioning allowed Genalta to double the amount of gas being conserved in the area.

GENALTA OWNS AND OPERATES TWO POWER GENERATION FACILITIES AT JUDY CREEK; A 2 MW ORGANIC RANKINE CYCLE AND A 15 MW GAS TURBINE.

Project Name: Judy Creek Simple Cycle      

Project Type: Gas to Power         

Location: Whitecourt, AB

Size: 15 MW              

ISD: Summer 2014

The Judy Creek Simple Cycle Gas facility converts gas into electricity during peak hours.  Remotely operated, the Judy Creek facility adds value to gas that would otherwise be sold to market.

 

Project Name: Judy Creek Organic Rankine Cycle    

Project Type: Waste Heat o Power

Location: Whitecourt, AB               

Size: 2 MW              

In-Service Date: Spring 2013

The Judy Creek Organic Rankine Cycle converts the wasted heat generated from turbine exhaust into 2.2MW of emission-free electricity. The power is used on our client’s site to offset power, delivery, and transmission charges incurred from the utility.  Genalta Power is the design-builder, owner, and operator of this facility.

Size: 15 MW                                     

In-Service Date:  Spring 2014

The Carson Creek Simple Cycle Gas facility converts gas into electricity during peak demand hours. With operations dictated by market prices and controlled by a real time trading desk, the Carson Creek project was designed to add value to our client’s sales gas.
