THE CADOTTE FACILITY, CONSTRUCTED AND COMMISSIONED IN 2012, WAS DESIGNED TO GENERATE ELECTRICITY FROM OTHERWISE-FLARED SOUR SOLUTION GAS.
Project Name: Cadotte
Project Type: Solution Gas to Power
Location: Peace River, AB
Size: 4 MW
In-Service Date: Spring 2012
The Cadotte Facility generated a new source of revenue for the client in Peace River. By diverting gas from flare, we were able to generate base load electricity, reducing operating expenses, and improving the client’s environmental performance. The innovative project was granted a patent for its design, and we are proud to say that the Cadotte facility was the first flare gas to power project to earn Greenhouse Gas Offset Credits in Alberta. It is estimated that over the life of the project, the facility will reduce regional emissions by over 240,000 tonnes of CO2e.
